Welcome to the show the whole world is watching. The cameras are rolling, the spotlights are on and you are walking into an ancient temple as this week's contestants. You have 40 – 50 minutes, to crack its puzzles, find the lost treasure and become masters of the temple.
Riddle of Ruins is not an ordinary expedition into ruins — it is a TV show. Cameras, cranes and billboards with host Jack Roadhitter surround the temple, the stands are lit and a countdown is running somewhere above you. You are this week's contestants, and the only thing between you and the treasure is what you can figure out.
The temple is built from puzzles that lock into each other: mechanisms in the halls, hidden levers, marks on the walls and corridors leading deep underground — into mine shafts where crystals glimmer in the dark. What one of you discovers opens the way for the rest, so it pays to say out loud everything you come across.
It is the most playful of our escape games — colourful, adventurous and with no horror. Wit matters here and so does a bit of luck, which makes it a good choice for families with children and for groups that have never stood in VR. Nobody gets stuck for long and nobody gets scared.
