The elites left you to fend for yourself on a ruined Earth. Their underwater vault holds everything they seized — including a rocket that is the last hope of a new beginning. You have 40 – 50 minutes, to get inside, take back what is yours and disappear. The vault, however, is not empty — and it hates visitors.
When the surface of the Earth became uninhabitable, the elites packed up everything of value and vanished below the waves. You they left behind — by their reckoning you were not supposed to survive that night. You did. And now you stand at the entrance to their vault, a vast dome on the ocean floor with a green surface rippling above it and a rocket waiting at its centre, ready for launch.
Your kit is simple and it all comes down to light: every member of the squad carries a weapon in their own colour — red, blue and green. On their own they will not get you far. Only when you merge the beams and mix the right shade do the locks give way, the codes light up and the way deeper into the vault opens.
The vault will not simply let itself be robbed. It has a will of its own, it watches you and throws everything it has at you — and that is where it shows whether you are a team. A lone player will not get through Abyss: Vault. While one of you takes aim, the second adds the colour and the third watches your backs; anyone who strays from the group ends up without the colour they need.
